Formed in 1998, 5th SS Wiking has built a reputation as a premier Midwestern reenacting group. Our unit is founded in Michigan and recruits active members all across the midwest in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and even Canada. We accept men from all different
backgrounds who share the same passion for history and its preservation.

Tools of the Trade
Unlike normal infantry unit, pioniers were combat engineers who specialized in assaulting fortified positions or creating defenses
and traps to stop invading enemies. Because of the nature of their work, pioniers were given access to a variety of weapons and tools that were not available to infantry soldiers,
such as: flamethrowers, demolition charges, minesweepers, wire cutters, saws, and various other tools to assault or defend positions.
